Black Fungus Outbreak Amid Corona Challenge, 700 Cases In Rajasthan, Raising Concerns In Other States

Amid the Corona challenge, black fungus has raised concerns. The number of patients with this disease is increasing in some states of the country. There are more than 200 cases of black fungus in Rajasthan alone. The government has become aware of this. The Rajasthan government has declared the fungus an epidemic. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed the officials to take necessary action. There are a total of 200 cases in the state, while only one hospital has more than 100 patients with black fungus.

Apart from Rajasthan, black fungus has also raised concerns in other states. So far, 40 patients have died in Maharashtra due to the disease. In states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, fungus patients are coming up. More than two thousand cases have been reported in Maharashtra.

The highest number of 50 cases of fungus has been reported at Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi. 3 cases have been reported in Max Hospital. While 30 cases of fungus have been reported in AIIMS and one in Mulchand Hospital.

An alert has been issued by the Delhi AIIMS regarding the disease and guidelines have been issued. It provides information on the symptoms of fungus, which patients are most at risk and what to do.
