The Pfizer- Bioentech and Moderna vaccines are effective on Corona variants B.1.617 and B.1.618 found in India. According to CNN, researchers have discovered this in a study. Experiments have been done in the lab for this. Where variants of vaccines from B.1.617 and B.1.618 variants have been found to cope. This research report is published in biorxiv.org.
Researchers at New York University who conducted the study said there was good reason to believe that people who had been vaccinated were protected against B.1.617 and B.1.618 variants. However, in addition to experiments in the lab, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in real life protect against this variant. That remains to be seen.
Tested on serum samples of 8 people
In this research, serum samples were taken from 8 people who had recovered from the initial variant of Covid. In addition , samples were taken from 8 people who had been vaccinated with Pfizer and 3 people who had been vaccinated against moderna . Examination in the lab showed that the serum sample reacted to exposure to the virus. In which it has been observed that the antibody obtained from the vaccine can fight against the antibody obtained from the infection better.
The researchers say that our report confirms that the current vaccine provides protection against variants available so far. The study, conducted in the lab, was conducted by the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the NYU Langone Center.
