Once again, the number of cases of corona infection was more than 2.5 lakhs and deaths also exceeded 4 thousand. In the last 24 hours, 2,57,299 cases of infection were reported and 4,194 people died. The number of people recovering in the last 24 hours was 3,57,630.
The central government has said that record testing was done once again in the past day. This figure of testing was 20.66 lakhs. The number of active cases in the country has come down to 30 lakhs and this 29,23,400.
Tamil Nadu ranked first among the five states with the highest number of cases of corona infection in the last 24 hours. 36,184 infections were reported in Tamil Nadu, 32,218 in Karnataka, 29,673 in Kerala, 29,644 in Maharashtra and 20,937 in Andhra Pradesh. In this context, out of the five most infected states, four are from the southern states.
According to the government, 19.32 crore doses of Corona have been taken so far. More than 92.7 lakh people in the age group of 18-44 years have been vaccinated.
Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that the government is doing its best to increase production and supply of Corona vaccine and by the end of the year the entire adult population will be vaccinated. At the same time, the government is also eyeing the increasing cases of black fungus.
