BJP’s ‘Embalam’ Selvam set to be elected Speaker of Puducherry Meeting

BJP MLA ‘Embalam’ R Selvam is all set to be elected unopposed as Speaker of the Puducherry Meeting on Wednesday.

Secretary to the Meeting R Mounissamy informed PTI on Tuesday that Selvam’s was the one nomination obtained for the election to workplace of Speaker, scheduled to be held within the Home tomorrow.

No different nomination was obtained until 12 midday in the present day, which was the deadline mounted to current papers for the election.

The territorial meeting has been convened by Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan tomorrow and this is able to be first session of the Home constituted within the wake of the polls held on April 6.

Embalam is the native place of Selvam and therefore he has been known as `Embalam` Selvam.

AINRC and BJP are constituents of the NDA which fashioned the coalition authorities right here with the AINRC having 10 members, the BJP six and the three nominated members appointed by the Centre are extending help to the AINRC headed NDA.

With 57-year outdated Selvam set to be elected unopposed, he can be the 21st Speaker of the territorial Meeting.
