Over 300 e-rickshaws impounded by police
A day after the Delhi high court temporarily banned battery-operated rickshaws in the national capital, the Delhi traffic police launched a crackdown on the e-rickshaws on Friday. The traffic police impounded 302 battery-operated rickshaws plying on arterial stretches of the city. The police said that it will continue the drive against the vehicles as per the HC’s order, which found these vehicles hazardous to the occupants as well as other road users. While the police launched its drive, politics over the e-rickshaw vehicles continued in the city.
