CWG 2014: Discus thrower Seema Punia wins silver

Glasgow: Indian discus thrower Seema Punia won the silver medal while her compatriot and defending champion Krishna Poonia finished a disappointing fifth in the 2014 Commonwealth Games at the Hampden Park Stadium here Friday.

The gold went to 2009 World Champion Dani Samuels of Australia and England's Jade Lally took the bronze.

Seema Punia won the silver with a season best throw of 61.61 metres. She has a personal best of 64.64 metres,
