British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday introduced a four-week delay to the total lifting of coronavirus restrictions in England as a consequence of a surge of infections attributable to the Delta variant.

“On the proof I can see proper now, I am assured that we are going to not want greater than 4 weeks and will not must transcend July 19,” Johnson informed a press briefing as he introduced the delay from the deliberate June 21 reopening date.
