NEW DELHI: Across India, states and Union territories have extended the Covid-induced lockdown from a week to a fortnight. Meanwhile, there are some states which have started easing restrictions imposed to arrest the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Haryana, Odisha, Telangana, Sikkim, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Goa are some of the states which have extended the lockdown, there are other states Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have started easing restrictions.
Here is a look at lockdown extensions/relaxations in states/UTs:
STATES WHERE RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN EASED
Delhi
The capital will begin the unlock process from May 31 with some easing of restrictions but other lockdown curbs will continue till June 7. The government has allowed manufacturing and construction businesses to resume work under strict Covid guidelines.
Uttar Pradesh
The state government has eased restrictions except in 20 districts including Lucknow from June 1. Night curfew and weekend lockdown to remain in the state. Shops and markets outside containment zones will be allowed to open from June 1 onwards from 7 AM to 7 PM but weekend lockdown, as well as night curfew from 7 PM to 7 AM, will remain. The districts where the curbs have not been eased include Meerut, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly and Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Madhya Pradesh
The state government has announced separate unlock guidelines for districts. Weekend lockdown to continue beyond May 31.
Himachal Pradesh
The government has extended the coronavirus curbs till June 7 with some relaxation.
Jammu and Kashmir
The administration has eased restrictions but night curfew and weekend shutdown remain. Public transport and malls will not function in the red zone. Barbershops, salons, parlours and liquor shops are permitted to open three days a week, except on Saturdays and Sundays. Corona night curfew in all 20 districts from 8 pm to 7 am and a weekend curfew from 8 pm Friday till 7 am.
Haryana
The state government has extended lockdown till June 7 with some easing of restrictions. Shops can now remain open from 9 AM to 3 PM as per the odd-even system. Malls will now be allowed to open from 10 AM to 6 PM, subject to certain conditions including a cap on visitors depending on the size of the premises. Colleges, industrial training institutes and schools will remain closed till June 15.
Bihar
The state government has imposed lockdown till June 8. Some extra concessions will be made for business activities for which details will be released later in the day on May 31.
Maharashtra
The state government has extended the lockdown till June 15. However, relaxations have been made depending on the infections in a district and the availability of oxygen beds. Districts with less than 10 per cent positivity rate where less than 40 per cent oxygen beds are occupied, all the establishments can remain open from 7 am to 2 pm. Districts with more than a 20 per cent positivity rate where over 75 per cent oxygen beds are occupied, the borders will be closed.
STATES WHERE LOCKDOWN HAS BEEN EXTENDED
Lakshadweep
The administration has extended the complete shutdown till June 7. Night curfew imposed in all islands from 5 pm to 6 am.
Chandigarh
The administration has imposed night and weekend curfew restrictions till May 31.
Punjab
The state government has extended the coronavirus restrictions till June 10.
Jharkhand
The state government has imposed lockdown till June 3.
Odisha
The state government has extended lockdown till June 17 with relaxations in three districts Nuapada, Gajapati and Sundergarh where curfew has been eased between 7 am till 1 pm for some businesses to operate.
West Bengal
The state government has extended ongoing Covid-19 restrictions till June 15.
Rajasthan
The state government has extended lockdown till June 8.
Gujarat
The state government has extended night curfew in 36 cities of the state till June 4. Educational institutions, auditoriums, theatres, malls, community halls, water parks, spas, gyms, gardens and swimming pools, will remain closed in the cities.
Chhattisgarh
The state government has asked authorities in all the 28 districts to extend the COVID-19 lockdown till May 31.
Kerala
The state government has extended lockdown till June 9 with some concessions.
Tamil Nadu
The state government has extended the lockdown till June 7.
Puducherry
The state government has imposed lockdown till June 7.
Karnataka
The state government has announced an extension of lockdown till June 7.
Telangana
The state government has extended lockdown till June 9. The lockdown will be strictly implemented from 2 pm to 6 am.
Andhra Pradesh
The state government has imposed a curfew till June 10.
Goa
The state government has imposed a curfew till June 7.
Nagaland
The state government has extended the lockdown till June 11.
Mizoram
The state government has extended the lockdown, which was imposed in Aizawl and other district headquarters, till June 6.
Arunachal Pradesh
The state government has imposed complete lockdown in Anjaw, Dibang Valley, Lower Subansiri, Lohit and Tawang districts and the Capital Complex Region till June 7.
Manipur
The state government has imposed a curfew in seven districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Thoubal, Kakching and Churachandpur till June 11.
Meghalaya
The government has extended lockdown in the worst-affected East Khasi Hills district till June 7.
Tripura
The government has extended the corona curfew in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas and all urban local bodies (ULB) till June 5.
Sikkim
The state government has extended lockdown till June 7.
Uttarakhand
The state government has imposed a strict Covid curfew till June 1.
